R. Kelly’s Tax Problems Multiply

R. Kelly owes the I.R.S. nearly $5 million in unpaid taxes, according to documents held by the Cook County Recorder of Deeds. The R&B superstar  may be one of the best-selling and highest earning recording artists of all time, but this isn’t the first sign he’s in financial difficulty.

He owes $1.47 million for 2005, $710,000 for 2006, $380,000 for 2007, $1.12 million for 2008, $170,000 for 2009 and $990,000 for 2010, the records state. JP Morgan Chase bank has also begun foreclosure proceedings on his Olympia Fields mansion pictured below.
