200 Columbus Milestone: Fire Chief Ned Pettus Retires

Magic 106.3 congratulates Columbus Ohio Division of Fire Chief Ned Pettus who just retired.  He  took his ceremonial final run in a fire engine on Friday March 23,  2012.  Pettus, a 35-year veteran, made history as the Columbus Division of Fire’s first black fire chief.  Under Pettus, 60, the Columbus Division of Fire became one of only three in the United States to achieve international accreditation.

Pettus said that he plans to take some time off and then continue to work on his PhD.
